Dr Levine embarked upon his life’s work as early as 1976
after completing a Fellowship in the Genetics Department
at the University of California at Berkeley where his
research as a Lab Director focused on genetics and
molecular biology. He was soon stricken with severe
chemical sensitivity and environmental illness. That
started his passionate entry into the field of
alternative/environmental medicine. His recovery from
chemical sensitivities originally with the mineral
selenium has been memorialized in numerous lay and
technical articles written over the last three decades
and finally in his writing the world’s leading treatise
on free radical pathology Antioxidant Adaptation
(co-authored by Paris Kidd, PhD). This book straddled
academic science, free radical biochemistry and
alternative medicine and became the “new testament”
providing an organizing principle for understanding the
action of the best known and best selling supplements of
the day. They were, of course, vitamins C, E, beta
carotene, and selenium. These were fundamentally,
antioxidants, i.e. redox-active. His insight into the
contribution of redox activities redefined the
understanding of the underlying energetic nature of
biological processes, stress and illness for thousands
of progressive health practitioners and scientists
worldwide.
Since the publication
of Antioxidant Adaptation in 1987, Dr Levine has
remained on the cutting edge of the scientific medical
community and his theories on free radical and chemical
hypersensitivity have recently received considerable
support from the monumental research of Dr Martin Pall
PhD, professor at Washington State University. In
addition, Dr Levine, in concert with many leading
doctors and scientists has contributed to the introduction of
many groundbreaking products and will continue to do so
for years to come. Dr. Levine has collaborated with the

Stephen Levine, Ph.D.,
founded NutriCology/Allergy Research Group in
1979. Dr. Levine graduated Cum Laude from the
State University College, Buffalo, NY and
obtained his Ph.D. from the University of
California, Berkeley. Dr. Levine was a Horace
and Edith King Davis Memorial Fellow; recipient
of an NIH Training Grant, and Predoctoral
Fellow, 1972 - 1976. Dr. Levine is
internationally recognized as one of the
foremost innovative leaders and researchers in
nutritional supplement formulation. He is
recognized as an international lecturer with
several editorial positions in professionally
sought after publications. Dr. Levine is also
known worldwide as an author of the book,
"Antioxidant Adaptation: Its Role in Free
Radical Pathology," which is considered a
leading resource on this subject. |
